Why was Flobit built?
Organizing a game among amateurs is harder than playing it. Most groups run on a chat: someone asks who is free on Thursday, replies trickle in over a day, a court is booked for four and six people turn up, and somebody drops out an hour before. Four problems come up again and again:
- Finding players who suit you. In a new city, or at a level your friends have moved past, there is nobody obvious to ask.
- Chat chaos. A fixture, a headcount and a score get buried in the same thread as the jokes.
- No-shows. A group that runs on yes-or-no replies can't tell who is really coming.
- Scattered scores. Results end up in screenshots, notebooks and memory, so nobody can say who beat whom last month.
Flobit takes on three of those problems. It helps you find players, keeps the game and the people who joined in one place instead of a chat thread, and keeps every score. It has no attendance record or button for marking no-shows, and it doesn't replace the court or the people you play with. It takes away much of the admin around them.
What does Flobit do?
Flobit has five jobs, and each has a page of its own:
- Find players and games. Post an open match or ask to join one near you. The host approves each request.
- Start a game quickly. A Quick Match is a lobby you share with a code, a QR code or a link. Guests don't need an account.
- Keep score. Live scoring follows each sport's real rules, with spoken score calls for tennis and padel. Scoring on an Apple Watch works offline.
- Run tournaments. Tournaments can be single or double elimination, a league, group + knockout or Mexicano, with referees, lineups and automatic trophies.
- Keep a group together. Communities give a regular group a chat and standings, and every player gets a rating for each sport built from confirmed results.
It works in ten sports: padel, tennis, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, football, ultimate frisbee, eFootball, badminton and pickleball. The sports pages show what Flobit does in each one.
What does Flobit not do?
Flobit is clear about its limits, because a wrong promise costs you a wasted trip to the court.
- It doesn't book courts or pitches. Reserve with the venue or a booking app, then post a match for that time. Other apps do court booking well, and the comparisons say which.
- It takes no payments for courts, entry fees or prizes. An organizer can show an entry fee on a tournament page, and any payment is between the player and the organizer. The app's only paid options are the optional Flobit Plus subscription and optional supporter tips, and neither pays for a court, an entry fee or a prize.
- It doesn't match you with strangers automatically. A host posts a game and approves who joins.
- It has no watch app for Android. The Apple Watch app is for iPhone; on Android you score on the phone or in the web app.
- It doesn't cover every sport. It covers the ten on the sports page; if yours isn't there, the app can't score it.
Who is behind Flobit?
Flobit is made in Baku, Azerbaijan, by Flobit MMC. The app speaks English, Azerbaijani, Russian, Turkish and Spanish, so a group can read its scores and play in its own language, and the first city guide on this site is about sport in Baku.
Flobit is free to use and has no ads. Flobit Plus is an optional monthly or yearly subscription, bought in the app (through the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android), that adds advanced stats and a Plus badge; it gives no advantage in matches, tournaments or ratings. Players who want to help can also leave an optional tip in the app; it unlocks no features and adds a supporter badge for 12 months. How Flobit handles your data is in the privacy policy, and the rules of use are in the terms.
